Dionne Roberts-Emegha
President, 1919 Media Company

As the President of 1919 Media Company and the Principal Owner of Talk-We Listen LLC, Dionne Roberts-Emegha leads two complementary enterprises that unify storytelling, strategy, and human connection. Her work spans business development, creative oversight, team leadership, and brand stewardship across ventures designed to impact both global audiences and individuals seeking a place to be heard.

At 1919 Media Company, Dionne guides strategic growth, oversees content development, and manages the full production pipeline. She cultivates partnerships, leads creative teams, and develops projects that explore the human condition through a culturally grounded lens. Under her leadership, the company has begun positioning itself as a rising force in prestige television, with the concept trailer for The Caste of Beula drawing more than two and a half million views across social platforms.

With her acquisition of Talk-We Listen LLC, Dionne expanded her entrepreneurial portfolio to include a confidential online listening service rooted in trust and care. She directs operational strategy, brand identity, and the development of services delivered by trained mediators and skilled listening professionals. This venture aligns with her longstanding commitment to conflict resolution and human communication, offering individuals a supportive space to process challenges with clarity and compassion.

Dionne’s leadership foundation was shaped by her years in federal service. As Director of the Community Partnership and Engagement Program for the U.S. Census Bureau’s Chicago Region, she led a six-state operation with 220 employees and partnered with elected officials and community leaders to engage underrepresented populations. She later served as a Federal Mediator with FMCS, guiding organizations through complex disputes and strengthening the communication and problem-solving skills that now drive her entrepreneurial work.

Alongside her executive responsibilities, Dionne is also a writer and producer whose creative work continues to evolve within 1919 Media’s slate. Storytelling remains a vital dimension of her identity, complementing her leadership and expanding the reach and resonance of the worlds she builds.
Across every venture she leads, Dionne’s mission remains constant:
to inspire understanding, strengthen connection, and create work that leaves a lasting cultural and human imprint.
