Chicago, IL (February 28, 2025) — Dionne Roberts-Emegha, President of 1919 Media Company, announced today the launch of 1919 Publishing, a new imprint set to debut its first titles in Fall 2025.

1919 Publishing will offer a diverse range of fiction and nonfiction spanning popular culture, politics, and entertainment. Whether in the realms of memoir or commentary, the defining thread across its catalog will be cultural impact and relevance.

“I’m thrilled to launch 1919 Publishing and bring to life a bold and thought-provoking collection of books across various genres,” says Roberts-Emegha. “It has long been my dream to elevate voices that are honest, nuanced, and innovative—stories and ideas that challenge perspectives and stir the consciousness.”

A attorney, screenwriter, and former federal mediator, Roberts-Emegha founded 1919 Media Company in 2022, bringing a wealth of experience from public service, advocacy, and leadership. As a principal liaison and subject matter expert for the U.S. Census Bureau, she played a pivotal role in navigating Decennial outreach efforts during one of the most challenging periods in U.S. history.

Her expertise in strategic alliances, conflict resolution, and community engagement has shaped her approach to storytelling—ensuring that every project under the 1919 Media umbrella carries depth, precision, and empathy.

Roberts-Emegha’s creative journey began as a means of healing and transformation, evolving into a mission to inspire and challenge audiences on a deeply human level. Through screenplays like The Caste of Beula, The Raising of an OG, and Toxic, 1919 Media Company is beginning to gain recognition for its layered characters, gripping narratives, and high-stakes drama.

The launch of 1919 Publishing marks a natural expansion—bringing these powerful stories to readers and advancing the company’s mission to shape conversations that matter.
